Hello Adventurers!
Here are the patch notes for our September update expected to release across all platforms today, September 26.
New Subclass - Cleric - Destruction Domain
Clerics of the Destruction Domain serve a god of entropy - a deity that holds that everything built must one day fall, expecting from its clerics to consider that it's their sacred duty to decide when. The power it grants is most often manifested as a pure force: the pressure of the god's will that cracks stone and splits armor. Its doctrine calls this work 'caretaking': clearing away what has outlived its purpose, crumbling walls, rotten institutions, tyrants past their time, so that something new can stand.
New Subclass - Warlock - First Light
Unlike most warlock, those of the First Light serve no being at all: they are occult scholars who somehow discovered an alien cosmic force - wrong, unnatural light that shone long before the first stars were ever born. They conduit it through their very bodies with great risk for themselves to incinerate their enemies from the very fabric of the world or to momentarily split their mind with visions that no mortal soul was ever meant to see.
Ability Generation System:
We know many of our players love to customize their character with unique abilities and skills, but the game previously struggled to keep up with it - even though it was possible to create something like that through different workarounds, it wasn’t particularly straightforward or stable. Now, we release a fully fleshed out, dedicated system that allows DM to generate custom active abilities in appropriate story moments, e.g. player character visits a master swordsman, discovers artifacts that changes them, spends some amount of time researching new ability or spell, etc.
Here are some details about it:
- Abilities are first memorized, but not immediately ready for use - they are considered Latent until player reaches necessary level and spends some amount of Realization Points to unlock them - after that they can be used as any other active ability.
- Current extent of the system covers generation of abilities capable of dealing damage, healing, adding bonuses to rolls, adding or removing conditions (including custom ones) and summoning creatures. We will continue to expand the range of possible effects in the future. System does not currently covers generation of passive traits, that is still a WIP.
- Every player character acquires 1 Realization Point on first level and gets 1 more every time they acquire ASI - alternatively, they can choose to skip ASI in order to acquire more Realization Points. Amount of custom abilities memorized at the same time increases with your character level.
- For most classes we see this system as an additional option to further customize their character and receive tangible rewards for their efforts, not a central gameplay pillar to build character's identity and capabilities around - that is still determined by your character's class. All and all we expect that most players will acquire custom abilities about 2-3 times across the entire campaign, however we are working on additional player options that would allow much more customization.
Tutorial:
We are also releasing a first version of our tutorial. It is a short, limited adventure in CYOA-game style (choose your own adventure), guiding the player through the core gameplay concepts. New players will be automatically prompted to try it, but have option to skip it, while existing players can try it via the new 'Tutorial' start.

What to look forward to for future patches
As always, we continue working on further improving the game. Next month will bring new class, new race, improvements for issues with how merchants work currently and, of course, more bug fixes. It’s also worth mentioning, that we recently started testing our fully reworked combat engine and it’s coming together nicely, but it’ll be another couple of months before you can see it in the game, so stay tuned.
